BSNL launched Mobile services under the brand name 'Cell One' in 2002. BSNL Mobile is the only Cellular service which is available both in urban and rural areas throughout India. BSNL Mobile is the most economical and is totally transparent. National and International Roaming facility is also available in BSNL Mobile Services.

BSNL launched 3G Services in 2010 with simultaneous use of speech and advanced data services.

BSNL launched 4G Services first from Kerala Circle in 2018 at Udumbanchola,Idukki district. Now the service is expanded to divisions of Thrissur,Ernakulam,Malappuram,Lakshadweep,Alappuzha and Kottayam.BSNL 4G services will be soon expanded to other districts of the state. Now 3G SIMs are replaced with 4G SIM free of cost in 4G available areas.

A host of Value added services like Messaging sevices, Caller Tunes,Edumithra etc are are also available at very economical charges.

BSNL is providing Postpaid International Roaming service for 76 networks in 195 countries. However, in Prepaid scenario, IR roaming is available for 30 networks in 26 countries as on 31.03.2019

Postpaid International Roaming

BSNL is providing Postpaid International Roaming service for 76 networks in 195 countries. However, in Prepaid scenario, IR roaming is available for 30 networks in 26 countries as on 31.03.2019

Dual IMSI SIM is required for IR facility. For this Customers are requested to visit nearest BSNL Customer Centre (CSC) for enabling IR Service of BSNL on request, by filling up a simple request form. Two self-attested photographs, an attested copy of passport and a one-time security deposit of Rs.5000/- (refundable) needs to be deposited along with request form. Subsequently, the customer will be enrolled under Postpaid Plan 99 and IR facility will be provided and Existing SIM will be replaced with Dual IMSI SIM by BSNL CSC.

Postpaid IR Tariff

The applicable charges are variable and dependent on foreign operators. All Voice calls (incoming & outgoing) are chargeable. SMS is charged for 160 characters (in case an SMS is 170 characters, it will be treated as 2 SMS). However, no charges will be levied for incoming SMS & Missed Calls.

The charge for data usage is as per the visited operator rate. Also, high data roaming charges will be incurred even when the customer is not using data, being GPRS based Data applications like Facebook will be consuming data bandwidth. Hence it is advisable to take judicious decision in this regard.

BSNL Prepaid mobile customers, irrespective of plan, can join as a Closer User Group. However prepaid and postpaid customers can not combined to form a CUG.The service charge for CUG is deducted on 1st day of every month. Minimum 3 connectins are required for CUG.Voice calls between the group members are totally free.

Topup voucher will provide only talk-value to the customer.Top-up voucher will not extend validity except New Mithram plan.

Bill Payment Options for BSNL Postpaid customers

1. BSNL Bill collection centres

BSNL Mobile customers can make their bill payment at any of our Customer Service Centers/Central Telegraph Offices by cash/Cheque/Demand Draft. Cheques/Demand Drafts should be drawn in favour of Accounts Officer (Cash) of the concerned SSA.

2. Bill payment through online

Customer can securely make bill payment by visiting our website www.bsnl.co.in (ONLINE BILLING---BSNL mobile (postpaid) Bills). Initially you need a onetime registration and subsequently you will provide with username and password. You can add your mobile numbers in to the registered account for making payments. Payment can be made by using your Credit card/ internet banking facility.

3. Bill payment through ECS

The Electronic Debit Clearing Scheme operated by Reserve Bank of India provides the subscriber an option of paying their mobile bills through their Bank Accounts. The subscriber's Bank Account will be automatically debited right on the Due Date / Pay by Date without any additional charge and also you will get 1% discount on the bill amount. The subscriber will continue to receive the bills with a specific entry, "NOT PAYABLE, BILL AMOUNT WILL BE DEBITED THROUGH YOUR BANK ACCOUNT BY ECS SCHEME" will appear on the regular bill for the ECS subscribers.

At present it is operated only in Trivandrum and this facility will soon be extended to other major cities also

4. Bill payment at Banks

All the BSNL mobile customers can make their bill payment at any of the branches of Punjab National Bank or Dhanlaxmi Bank. Federal bank customers can opt for mobile bill payment through their bank account by Fedepay system. The customer only has to make a mandate at their federal bank branch. The payment system is fully automatic and the customer will receive bill with an intimation in bill with a specific entry “NOT PAYABLE AMT WILL BE DEBITED THROUGH YOUR BANK ACCT UNDER FED E-PAY SCHEME”

5. Bill payment through Jensevana Kendrams & Akshaya Centres

Mobile bill payments can be made at Friends & Akshaya centers which is working in all the 14 districts of kerala. All the centers will accept mobile bill even after pay by date and also it will be working on all days including Sunday. List of Friends centers is enclosed.

6. Bill payment through Authorised Franchisees

There are 80 authorized retail franchisees showrooms of BSNL throughout kerala through which customers can make their mobile payment easily . List of centers of franchises is enclosed*

7. CBP (Customer Bill Payment) through BSNL retailer

Customer can pay Landline/ Broadband/Mobile bill payment through BSNL retailer. Receipt is sent to Mobile number of the customer via SMS which has link to download bill receipt.

There will be service disruption time of only 4 hrs during this process

  • Obtain 'Unique Porting Code' by sending an SMS from the mobile number you want to port to the number '1900' with text 'PORT' followed by space followed by your 10 digit mobile number you want to port
  • Fill up the CAF and Porting Form
  • Submit the duly filled Porting Form and CAF along with requisite documentary proof of the mobile service provider
  • If you are a post paid subscriber, submit a paid copy of the last bill issued along with the Porting Form and CAF

Select your Language. After selecting your language, you will get categories to select your song. From Latest, Devotional, Evergreen. You will have select your category. Post selecting your category, select the song you would like to set is as your BSNL tune. Reply with the Song Serial Number. You will receive a Flash message to give a final consent. Please follow the message instruction to activate your BSNL Tune.

  • BSNL Subscriber, gets an OBD call (Telemarketing Call to customer) where he can select from the 5 songs to set it as his/her BSNL tune. To set the same, BSNL Subscriber has to give first consent for the songs he wishes to set as BSNL tune. After giving the first consent, the call will be transferred for taking the second consent of the subscriber. Once the Second consent is given by the customer, the BSNL tune of the customer will be set.

  • Now Android users can download BSNL tunes APP from Play store and can set any song of your language.

What are the charges?

BSNL Tunes monthly charges are Rs. 42/-month with Unlimited FREE Song Downloads.

FREE PRBT Bundled STV/PLANs

Attractive STVs bundled with Free PRBT service are also available at affordable rate.

How to Deactivate Value Added Services (VAS)

Customer needs to call 155223 or send STOP as SMS to 155223. The list of Value Added services subscribed by the customer will be sent as reply message. (Eg: 1for BSNL Tunes, 2 for GK, 3 for Horoscope and so on). Customer has to be type the code for which the service has to be deactivated and and follow instructions.

FREE PRBT STV Packs

PRBT enabled STV/PLANs are also available in BSNL and customers can choose his STV pack from various packs available according to his needs. Most popular PRBT enabled STV packs are STV 99, STV 187, PLAN 1699 etc. Once the customer activates the PRBT enabled STV pack, customer will receive SMS alerts to Dial 56700 to choose his free song. PRBT will deactivate automatically once the STV validity is over.

Customers can now enjoy great unlimited Indian entertainment anytime, anywhere on EROS NOW FREE of cost with Select BSNL STVs.

When the customer recharges with the bundled STV,the customer will be given an SMS with the link to download the Eros Now application from Google Play Store or Apple App Store. The SMS also contains the username and a unique password for customer to login in the application. After logging in the application customer can access (stream) the entire library of EROS NOW. The validity of the service will be same as that of the STV.

Mesaging Services

1.Outbound Dialling (OBD)

It is a method to give information / promotion through pre-recorded voice message. The system automatically dials out calls to a list of Mobile Customers and plays a pre-recorded audio message. This facility can be utilised by banking institutions, political parties, religious institutions etc.

For all local/STD calls,the charge for OBD call is 50ps/30 sec and 1 Rs/min (Excluding GST)

2.Bulk Push SMS Service

BSNL Bulk SMS service provides a simple and user-friendly way for sending bulk as well as individual messages at affordable rates. This Service includes the facility to send both transactional and promotional SMSs. Transactional/Promotional SMS can be send by customers through our web portal/API. Promotional SMS has to be send on behalf of the Customer by CSR also. These service can be used by business enterprises, Educational institutions etc to send both Transactional and Promotional SMSs.
