BSNL launched Satellite phone service through INMARSAT which can provide communication via satellites in areas without mobile coverage.
2016
Second phase of NGN commissioned. Wi-Fi hotspots launched in major locations of Kerala state. BSNL launched Mobile Data Offloading (MDO) service to Wi-Fi covering five southern states including Kerala.

Introduced FTTH (Fibre to Home) in BSNL.
India's first 100Mbps rural broadband network connecting Grama Panchayats (NOFN) was commissioned in Idukki district in January.

National Energy Conservation Award 2008 awarded to RTTC Trivandrum, BSNL web conferencing Services Introduced. Broadband Services made available in 1226 Exchanges covering Rural Areas also.

Prepaid CDMA WLL service introduced, PRBT introduced to mobile and landline customers, Launched CDMA EVDO (Broadband wireless connection up to 2Mbps speed), BSNL Melas conducted at various locations. Introduced Personal accidental – death and permanent total disability insurance coverage to PCO owners.
2007
Award of ISO 9001:2000 Certificate to BSNL Mobile Services, Kerala Circle, Customer Care Portal launched. BSNL Kerala crossed 20 Lakhs Cellone Customer milestone during August 2007. BSNL introduces FLPP (Fixed Line Pre Paid) services , Introduced PRBT to postpaid mobile customers & BSNL introduces free insurance for its customers.
2006
BSNL Kerala Circle has become the No.1 Telecom Service Provider in the State. The Circle has the 2nd largest basic service network out of the 24 Telecom Circles in the country. In Kerala, BSNL is the No.1 Cellular Service Provider. Broadband services have been made functional in 188 sites covering all SSAs. Wi-fi Services launched. OneIndia Plan Introduced. All India WTMS Introduced.

MPLS VPN Services introduced. Broad Band Services are introduced. On-line Directory Services launched in keralatelecom website on 05-12-2005.
2004
Data Centre at Trivandrum opened on April 19. Directory Enquiry through SMS launched on August 15. General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) and Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) introduced in Kerala Circle on 16.11.04. Siemens SWitch introduced at Trivandrum 0n 30-11-2004. LNMS Services introduced in Kerala Circle.

Direct Internet Access(DIAS) facility introduced. All India Online PGRMS Introduced.

October 23- CELLONE Mobile service Launched.

Call Centres opened at Trivandrum, Ernakulam and Trichur. WLL exchange commisioned in Ernakulam.

National Internet Back Bone opened in all district head quarters. Sancharnet becomes operational. Internet Dhabas opened in all 152 Block Head Quarters.
